Helle libraries will remove from their customer register all customers who have not used their library card for five years. The deletion will take place on Monday, April 14.
A customer will not be deleted if:
– they have fees or loans
– they in the process of billing or debt collection
– they are a guarantor on a child’s library card
If your information has been removed, i.e. your library card is no longer valid, please visit your nearest Helle Library with a photo ID. You will receive a new library card free of charge.
In future, the deletion will be done at the beginning of each year.
The reason for the deletion is the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provision Right to erasure (or Right to be forgotten). It requires the controller to delete personal data that are no longer needed for the original purpose.
